You know something’s off.

School says they'll handle it. Work says it'll settle down. Neither is true.

Maybe homework battles end every night the same way. Maybe your kid won't get out of the car at drop-off.
Maybe the IEP meeting left you with more questions than answers.

Or maybe it's you. Maybe the ADHD or autism diagnosis came as an adult, and you're realizing the systems that got you through school don't exist at your job. Maybe the job search has stalled somewhere around the interview. Maybe a career change feels impossible to plan around a brain that doesn't work the way the job description assumes it does.

Either way, you've been holding it together alone: tracking accommodations, translating what other people mean by "communication style," advocating in rooms full of people who weren't listening.

It's exhausting. And it shouldn't be your job alone.

Most therapists treat the person in front of them. I work the whole system.

I’m a Licensed Educational Psychologist (LEP), which means I’m a school psychologist licensed to work in private practice. That hyphenated identity matters. It’s why I can do all of this under one roof:

  • Therapy with the student, client, or young adult, in language that actually works for them

  • Coaching for parents and partners, so the work continues at home

  • Direct consultation with the school: IEPs, 504s, teacher meetings, evaluations

  • Executive function support that connects the classroom, the workplace, and the kitchen table

  • Career-focused work for adults navigating a job search, an interview process, or a career change

You don't need three providers, three intakes, and three different opinions. You need one person who sees how it all fits together, whether the system in question is a school or a workplace.

What We Do

  • Therapy

Anxiety, ADHD, autism, and the everyday

Individual therapy for kids, teens, and adults. CBT, DBT, DBT-A, ACT, ERP, IFS, and play therapy, chosen for the client, not the brand.

  • Executive Function Coaching

For anyone who can, but can't start, finish, or follow through

Skills coaching for focus, organization, time management, and emotional regulation, for students and working adults alike.

  • IEP & 504 Consultation

    Independent. Plain-English. On your side.

Interpretation of school evaluations. Strategy for IEP meetings. Direct consultation with school staff with your written permission.

  • School Refusal Support

    When mornings have stopped working

Intensive support for families navigating school avoidance. Individual sessions, parent training, school-side coordination.

Why this works when other approaches haven’t

Three reasons families come to me after trying other therapists, tutors, or school-based supports first:

How to get started

A simple, low-pressure path from "we should probably call someone" to a working plan.

  • Free 20-minute consultation

We get on the phone or video. You tell me what’s going on. I tell you whether I’m the right fit, and if not, who is.

  • Intake and first session

A longer intake to map the full picture: academic or work history, current diagnosis, school or workplace context, and family or personal dynamics. Then we build the plan together.

  • Ongoing work + system coordination

Weekly sessions for the client. Parent check-ins as needed for kids and teens. Coordination with the school, or with a workplace when it's indicated and you've given consent.

Hi, I’m Meredith Alt.

Licensed Educational Psychologist (LEP #4428), Ed.S., NCSP, ADHD-CCSP, CCTAP, SPACE-trained.

I'm a school psychologist who works in private practice. I've spent nearly 20 years inside California, Florida, and Washington schools watching kids fall through cracks the system doesn't have time to catch. My private practice exists to fill those cracks, for kids, teens, and adults alike, through therapy, coaching, and advocacy under one roof, so families don't have to assemble a team from scratch.

Not sure where to start?
That’s exactly what the free call is for.

Twenty minutes, no commitment. We figure out together whether I’m the right person, and if not, you walk away with a referral.
